13-Piece Wooden Weather Building & Storytelling Set

Very nice wooden pieces with a wonderful finish. My daughter loves creating her own stories featuring the sun and storm clouds. It's a bit pricey, but the durability and educational value make it worth it for storytelling time.

The recommended age is spot on. My 2-year-old gets very frustrated trying to stack these because the curves of the clouds don't interlock perfectly; you have to find the exact balancing point. My older nephew, however, loves the challenge.

Honestly, I bought this because it looked beautiful, and it really does look like a piece of art sitting on the playroom shelf. Luckily, it functions just as well as a toy. It's a nice change of pace from standard square building blocks.

The craftsmanship is excellent. Every single curve on the clouds and the points on the sun are sanded down perfectly smooth. There are no sharp edges or rough spots that could cause a splinter. It feels like an heirloom toy.

They are fantastic for storytelling. We use the sun and the lightning bolt to act out stories on the rug.

The first thing I noticed out of the box was that there was absolutely no chemical or paint smell, just a natural wood scent. My youngest is teething and constantly puts the snowflake and the little raindrops in his mouth, but the paint hasn't chipped or bled at all.

These are very chunky, solid pieces of wood. When my kids build a giant weather tower and it inevitably comes crashing down on our hardwood floor, it is incredibly loud. We've had to make a rule that this is a "carpet only" toy.

I'm so tired of glaring neon plastic toys. The colors on this set are beautifully muted—the blues and yellows look like they belong in a nursery catalog. The wood grain still shows through the stain slightly, which I really appreciate.
