We've had this in the play rotation for a while and the pieces are still being used in different ways. Some days it's the lion, some days it's a tower, and sometimes the pieces get mixed into other building games. I like toys that don't have only one right way to use them.

My preschooler likes when I sit down and build with him, especially when we try to make silly figures from the different pieces. He still asks for help with the full puzzle sometimes, but that's become a nice activity for us to do together.

I usually keep this on a low shelf in the playroom because the rainbow lion looks nice when everything is put away. Of course it doesn't stay together for long once my child notices it, but cleanup is pretty straightforward.

Putting the lion back together was a little challenging for my child at first, which actually turned out to be a good thing. After a few tries, she started remembering where more of the pieces belonged and was very happy when she finished it herself.

The lion rarely stays a lion in our house. The wooden pieces become houses, boats, little characters, and whatever else my son is imagining that day. I didn't expect him to use it for pretend play this much.

This has been a nice toy for quieter play at home. My daughter likes sorting the colors first, then she usually tries to put the lion back together on her own. It keeps her hands busy without needing a screen.

I bought it mainly because I liked the lion design, but the building pieces ended up being the part my child uses most. It gives them enough direction to get started without limiting what they can make.

My child doesn't always stay with one toy for very long, but this one gets pulled out pretty often. Sometimes we do the lion puzzle together and other times the pieces turn into completely different things.

The colors look cheerful without being overly bright. My son usually takes the pieces out of the tray and makes his own little structures on the table. Putting everything back together has also become part of the play.

This has become our go-to quiet time activity before bed. It requires just enough focus to figure out the angles and colors without being overstimulating. It’s a really nice, calming break from screen time and noisy electronic toys.

We first used it as a puzzle, but my daughter quickly started building little animals and funny shapes with the pieces. I like that she can play with it differently each time instead of doing the exact same thing over and over.

The contrast between the brightly painted mane and the natural wood lion face is lovely. I appreciate that the face isn't just painted on; the eyes and nose are actually carved into the wood. It has a great minimalist, high-quality vibe to it.

This is the only toy I don't force the kids to throw into a storage bin at the end of the day. When it's fully assembled in the frame, we just lean it against the wall on the shelf. It looks like a really nice piece of art for their bedroom.

These are heavy, solid wood blocks. My toddler knocked a pile of them off the table onto our tile floor. It made a terrible racket, but none of the pieces chipped or dented. Very durable craftsmanship, just watch your toes!

As a puzzle, finding the right spots for the mane is a bit too tricky for my youngest. However, he loves using the curved and angled pieces as little tunnels, ramps, and bridges for his toy cars on the table. It gets daily use even if the lion never gets finished.

The color gradient is beautiful. The wood has a matte finish rather than a glossy one, which makes it less slippery when stacking them vertically. However, because of that slight texture, they do attract a bit of cat hair if you play with them on the rug.

I originally bought this thinking it was just a flat jigsaw puzzle. I was surprised by how thick the blocks are. My kids actually spend more time building funny 3D walking figures with the wedges on the carpet than making the actual lion face in the tray.

These pieces are solid wood. If your kid builds a tower out of them and knocks it over, it will definitely make a loud clatter on a hard floor. We instituted a strict "play on the carpet" rule for this puzzle. Other than that, it's fantastic.

The craftsmanship is excellent. Every single block is sanded down perfectly smooth with slightly rounded edges. I felt completely safe letting my younger child handle them. It feels like a premium, heirloom-quality toy that will last for years.

When my preschooler is overstimulated, bringing this out on the rug completely changes his mood. There are no loud noises or flashing lights. He just sits quietly, rotating the geometric pieces to see how they fit into the circle. It’s incredibly soothing.

Before my toddler could figure out the puzzle aspect, we just used the mane pieces to practice our colors. It's a great visual tool for teaching gradients from dark to light. The face pieces in the middle are a nice natural wood contrast to the bright outside.

I love that it comes with a sturdy wooden tray. It gives the kids a clear boundary of where the puzzle starts and ends. Plus, it makes cleaning up so much easier. Once it's built inside the frame, you can just slide it right onto the toy shelf without pieces falling everywhere.

I'm always worried about the chemical smell on painted toys, but this had zero off-gassing right out of the box. It just smelled faintly of natural pine. The paint feels more like a deep stain, so you can still see the beautiful wood grain through the colors.

We rarely use it to build the actual lion face anymore. My daughter dumps the tray out and uses the curved face pieces to make little wooden animals and the rainbow pieces as "sunshine" for her dolls. It's truly an open-ended Waldorf-style toy.

Honestly, I bought this mostly because it matched my son's safari-themed room. When he isn't playing with it, we leave it fully assembled in its tray on his bookshelf. It looks like a beautiful, high-quality art piece rather than just a child's toy.

Unlike flimsy cardboard puzzles, these wooden blocks are thick and chunky. My toddler has a very easy time picking them up and maneuvering them into place. Because they are thick, my kids also use them outside the frame to build little towers and ramps.

The gradient on the lion's mane is absolutely gorgeous. I thought this would be a quick puzzle for my four-year-old, but figuring out exactly which angled piece goes where in the mane actually takes some serious concentration. It's a great quiet-time activity.
