I'm very picky about painted toys for my kids. I was relieved that these smelled like nothing but natural wood straight out of the package. The color doesn't rub off on their hands, even when my toddler inevitably puts one in his mouth.

Sometimes the simplest toys are the best. There are no flashing lights or rules, just flat wooden sticks. They get used daily for everything from domino rallies to pretend Jenga. The quality is holding up perfectly under rough play.

It took us several tries and a few collapsed towers before we finally built a stable Da Vinci bridge. The kids were getting annoyed, but the moment the last stick went in and it held up, they were so proud. It's a great lesson in physics and patience.

My kids use these to build little bleachers and houses for their wooden peg dolls. They are the perfect size for creating small-scale play setups. The wood has a nice weight to it, so the structures don't blow over easily.

Just a tip: you absolutely cannot build the bridge structure on a carpet. It requires a hard floor or a table because the friction and balance are so delicate. Once you get the hang of the weaving technique, it’s incredibly satisfying when it holds its own weight.

We have plain wooden building planks, but the rainbow colors on this set make a huge difference. My daughter loves creating color gradients and sorting them before she builds. The colors are really bright and consistent across the pieces.

I was worried they might be like giant popsicle sticks with splinters, but they are actual solid wood planks, sanded very smoothly. There are no rough spots, and the paint feels like a stain that won't chip easily. Very well made.

We bought this specifically to build the Da Vinci bridge, and it's much harder than it looks! It really requires teamwork and a steady hand because no glue or connectors are used. It's a fantastic brain-teaser for my older kids, but definitely too frustrating for my toddler.
