Beautiful colors, zero chemical smell

My boys immediately started using these blocks to build elaborate tunnels and train stations around their wooden tracks. The bright colors contrast nicely with the plain wooden tracks, and the arches are the perfect height for the trains to pass under.

The irregular shapes (like the arches with the cutouts) make building much more challenging than standard blocks. My 5-year-old has to really think about center of gravity to make her structures stable. It's fantastic for developing spatial awareness.

Honestly, even when the kids aren't playing with it, I leave the wooden tray sitting out on the playroom shelf because it looks like a piece of modern art. The gradient of the rainbow colors is very well done. It's a toy I don't mind looking at all day.

I ran my hands over all the pieces before giving them to my kids, and the craftsmanship is excellent. Even the sharpest points on the triangles have been slightly rounded off and sanded perfectly smooth. There is no risk of splinters here.

My younger son gets frustrated trying to balance the curved pieces vertically, so instead, we lay them flat on the floor to make huge, colorful geometric patterns and sunbursts. It’s a surprisingly calming activity and shows how versatile the shapes are.

These are proper solid wood blocks. They feel very high-quality and sturdy, but if your toddler knocks down a tall tower, it sounds like an explosion on our hardwood floors. We’ve had to enforce a strict "carpet only" rule for this set.

I'm very sensitive to the off-gassing of painted wooden toys. I was so relieved that this set just smelled like natural pine out of the box. The colors are incredibly vibrant, but the finish is matte, not slippery, so the blocks actually grip each other well when stacked.

We have a giant tub of standard rectangular blocks, but the unique shapes in this set—especially the semi-circles and the little cylinder pieces—make building so much more creative. My daughter loves making little domed roofs and rounded archways for her peg dolls.

My kids love building elaborate castles on the rug, but getting all these intricate pieces to fit perfectly back into the wooden square tray is a real brain-teaser. I highly recommend taking a picture of it before they play so you remember how the arches and crescents interlock for cleanup.
