I am genuinely amazed by the four distinct tones this single wooden body can produce. Depending on how softly or firmly my daughter blows into it, she can experiment with different rhythms and patterns. It perfectly encourages cause-and-effect thinking without any annoying electronic buttons.

Beautiful wood, wish it had a lanyard

The laser-printed steam engine graphic is really cute, and the natural finish is incredibly smooth for little hands. It produces a very clear sound even with a gentle breath, which is great for toddlers. I am giving it four stars only because I wish it came with a little string or lanyard to hang around his neck, but it's a fantastic toy.

The 4-tone sound on this is incredibly realistic and sounds so much better than cheap plastic ones. I bought this as a stocking stuffer and my son runs around the house all afternoon pretending to be a train conductor. The natural pine wood is perfectly smooth and completely splinter-free.
